Lana received her medical degree from Damascus University, Syria (2007), and obtained a master of science in public health with an emphasis on epidemiology from Emory University, USA (2012).

She joined KNCV in July 2018 and has previously worked with international and local humanitarian organizations on their health relief efforts in the Middle East in domains such as primary healthcare, reproductive health, early warning surveillance, and coordination.

For the last four years, she has been working on her PhD project and teaching courses for master’s and bachelor’s levels at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
