After graduating with a Bachelor of Business, Norma was employed for several years as a finance officer in the Irish National health service in the area of substance misuse.

She completed a MSc Operations Research and Management Science at Lancaster University in 2015 and subsequently work in the area of data management and analysis in the UK national health service with a focus on community and mental health data.
