Susan has more than 15 years of experience in Public Health and Development with degrees in Social Work, Women's Studies and a Master's in Public Health from Tulane University. Susan started her career in Côte d'Ivoire and continued with postings in Malawi and Thailand.

Previous employers include Save the Children, the UN-FAO, the Louisiana Office of Public Health STD/HIV Program, the Louisiana Public Health Institute and Tulane University. Most recently she was the Director of Monitoring & Evaluation for AmeriCares, an emergency response and global health organization developing, monitoring and evaluating a broad range of programs including post-disaster mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal, health worker safety in Tanzania, mobile medical clinics in the slums of Mumbai and maternal, newborn and child health in Liberia.
